COVID-19 Resources

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to important innovations for institutions of the nonprofit sector. Early on, the NCNE asked the experts comprising its Research Advisory Network (RAN) for their support in the development of a high value document, Essential Answers for Nonprofits Coping with Economic Implications of the COVID-19 Crisis. The RAN, a collective of 50+ national scholars dedicated to nonprofit and third sector research, who are most skilled at applying the principles of economic theory and finance to the nonprofit workplace, were also instrumental in the curriculum development and instructional delivery of NCNE’s hallmark knowledge product, Managing for Resilience: A New Approach to Nonprofit Management. Managing for Resilience is a ten-module professional development workshop series that trains nonprofit leaders how to protect themselves from future catastrophic crises and instructs them on how to navigate existing ones. The program yields certification for participants who completed a minimum of five course modules, and is now available for digital, asynchronous access.

At the onset of the pandemic, NCNE also produced Managing for Resilience in a Crisis, a 12-part video series that provides a comprehensive overview on the concept of organizational resilience while identifying the key dimensions around which nonprofits are developing their resilience strategies. These 2-minute video clips will appeal to anyone with an interest in the health, wellbeing, and resiliency of nonprofit organizations, including executive directors, finance directors, board members, policymakers, researchers, educators, and students. You can view the series here.

A recent partnership with WellAir, a company devoted to “making the indoor world cleaner and safer,” contributes technology we think is important and innovative for nonprofit professionals. WellAir’s patented technology, NanoStrike, has been independently tested and proven effective at inactivating the smallest of airborne viruses, bacteria, mold spores, and pollen. “Scientifically proven to harmonize how we work, live, and play,” WellAir’s products are timely and worthy of our attention. Their resources are available here.

Finally, our most recent partnership with James Madison University affords additional innovative content arising from COVID-19 responses among nonprofit organizations in their milieu. These resources can be viewed here.
